Horacio Quiroga - Playwright
Playwright, director, actor. Horacio does it all when it comes to theatrical endeavors. Known throughout the continent, Horacio has several successful plays to his name. He travels the continent with his acting troupe, The Velvet Operators.
Physical Description
Horacio is a thin man with black unkempt hair, a thick mustache, and an unkempt beard. He always wears a black wool suit and a crisp white shirt.
Backstory
An entertainer of some renown, Horacio began his acting career at the early age of 6 years old. Cast as a background urchin, his enthusiasm and willingness to help anywhere caught the eye of the director who took him under his wing. Thus began his life as a traveling artist and the youngest Smiling Fools acting group member.
In his teenage years and early 20s, Horacio was the lead in many of the shows produced and put on by the Red Fools. His fellow actors loved him, as he was a committed actor, ready to help any of his fellow companions. It wasn't until an accident on stage that sidelined his ability to act for six months that Horacio began to write plays. He convinced the troupe's director to allow him to put on the show, which was a smashing success. Horacio started his own company, The Velvet Operators, following the success of this play, amicably parting ways with the Red Fools.
Now in his late 50s, Horacio rarely acts anymore, focusing his energies on writing and directing his material. Actors have come and gone, most of whom Horacio still considers family. He has begun to feel pressure to write another big play, as his last few productions, while well received, have failed to live up to his previous successes. He is currently suffering from writer's block leading to a melancholy depression, as he wonders if he will ever write another script again. His troupe believes in him, refusing to abandon him after the last tour ended over three months ago, rehashing old material to stay afloat.

Lugos Talulla - Cursed Huntsman
Once thought of as a brave warrior who could take on any danger, Lugos had retired from adventuring to a quiet life. When wolves began endangering his village, Lugos picked up his weapons one more time to deal with the threat. During one such fight, he was savagely bitten and now is cursed.
Physical Description
Lugos stands at four and a half feet with an ancient beard turned white. His most prized possession is an old suit of armor covered in scratches and nicks, its design from more than a hundred years back.
Backstory
A long time ago, Lugos was a simpler dwarf who only dreamed of living life below the mountains of the Spine. As centuries wore on, his curiosity grew for a world outside the toil of rock and stone and so he ventured far from his home and to a world of life. As he wandered the land, he learned that rock and stone held little interest to him compared to the vast world of nature, trees, and the animals within.
As he continued his journeys, he soon found himself defending what he took to be his new home. He fought off monsters, poachers, giants, and other foul creatures that would attack his adopted village of Cailean. A hundred years passed and he had continued his defense of the village, and despite his continued claims that he cared for none in the village, the people of Cailean held him in high regard.
Retirement and Foul Beasts. Like all living things, Lugos found that he would grow tired quicker and his strength was slowly draining. He thought he'd try to retire to a cabin where the most ferocious thing he'd fight would be a beaver for their fur, which soon changed after only a few short years when the wolf population began to explode almost in a single night.
These wolves were far more dangerous than they had been in Lugos' youth, with reports of villagers being attacked in their very homes. Lugos grabbed his old weapons and journeyed into the forests to hunt down these wolves and keep his village safe, even if his eyesight was starting to go poor.
Unfortunately for Lugos, these beasts seemed to be afflicted with a strange curse that caused grown men to turn into beasts and wolves, fortifying their numbers against Lugos and the other hunters who tried to bring them down. During one such brawl, Lugos was given a ferocious bite and now thinks he can feel tendrils of lupine ferocity coursing through his veins. He is looking for a healer to stop the infection and allow him to continue to defend his home.
Quick Reference Traits
Personality Traits. With a lesson for every situation, Lugos can turn even the darkest moments into a teachable lesson.
Ideals. The natural world should be protected.
Bonds. Lugos will do anything for his adopted home, even if it requires his life.
Flaws. Lugos finds it difficult to trust anyone.
Adventure Hooks
Lugos has heard of an alchemical concoction that combines wolf's bane and silver shavings that might stop his curse. This plant is supposed to grow in the forest, but only grows around a meadow protected by a dryad.
Once Lugos is cured of his curse, he wants to hunt down the last of the wolves that fled from his village to ensure that no one else is harmed.
Tracking after the wolves, a new threat appears. It seems as if the wolves had been set loose by a creature calling themselves the Moon Lord, who wants to spread their curse across the forest and the world.
